This is a steel throat / baffle plate to suit a Charnwood C-Four (C-4) wood burning stove.
The throat plate is also known as a baffle plate. It sits in the top of the appliance and protects the top casting of the stove from heat. In some cases, it can also improve airflow in the fire box.

Throat / Baffle Plates are a common consumable spare part that needs replacing often due to the amount of punishment they receive. Better to replace the throat plate than the entire appliance.
