This is a cast iron throat / baffle plate to suit certain Charnwood LA / DX & CW boiler stoves.
The throat plate is also known as a baffle plate. It sits in the top of the appliance and protects the top casting of the stove from heat. In some cases it can also improve air flow in the fire box.
Throat / Baffle Plates are a common consumable spare part that needs replacing often due to the amount of punishment they receive. Better to replace the throat plate than the entire appliance.
